  • DIGUSTATION AND PRESENTATION OF QUALITY BEEF PRODUCT FROM THE NORTH WEST HIGHLAND

    In the framework of project “Overcoming the market and technical obstacles to raise cow effectively in the north west region of Vietnam, Centre for Agrarian Systems Research and Development collaborated with Ha Noi University of Agriculture to hold the seminar “Digustation and presentation of quality beef product from the north west highland of two provinces: Son La and Dien Bien on October 20th, 2012 at BigC Thang Long. Cows of these two provinces are mainly raised by the ethnic minority in the style of natural, traditional tending and the beef is firm, tasteful when it is processed.

  • Finding solutions for climate change mitigation that benefit small farmers

    Smallholder farmers need more income and the world needs to cut emissions of greenhouse gases that are contributing to climate change. Although both of these needs can be met through carbon markets, it's notoriously difficult to link smallholder farmers to these markets. Researchers from the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) are working in four countries to assess the contribution that small farmers can make to carbon markets and ways to link them to these markets.
